Massage is a natural healing art that has been around for thousands of years. Massage therapy is based on our instinct to rub areas that hurtand bodies that need soothed. We rub our muscles when they hurt and parents rub their baby’s back to help him fall asleep. Massage therapy takes that very basic principle and evolves in into a science.

Numerous studies have shown that, whether in giving or receiving, touch is as essential to human survival as is food. No form of human connection is as powerful and universal as touch. From infants to the elderly, human touch and massage is an important therapy for many conditions. The exponential growth of the bodywork field is a valuable testament to the worth of safe, therapeutic touch. Massage is a healthy way to receive much-needed human contact.
